What does Eid mean to you?
Other than marking the end of the fasting month, wearing new clothes and eating good food 24/7, it's also a month of forgiveness. I hope everyone is having a wonderful raya (celebration) so far, but in the midst of asking for forgiveness, don't forget to forgive yourself. We are definitely not perfect--we make mistakes and fall from grace sometimes. But what's important is how you rise again. What's important is we learn from it and become better people.
(I am obviously in a Najwa Zebian trance (@najwazebian)! Her words are so captivating I wish I wrote like that!)

Meeting Nurita for measurements back in March! |
Big thanks to Nurita for making the most amazing dress I've ever seen! Nurita Harith is such an amazing designer and one of my favourites of all time. I have always wanted to be in her signature silhouettes ever since I saw the chic Sharifah Amani in one. Nurita's workmanship is crazy-amazing and it fitted perfectly on the first fitting! I cheated. I wore a corset underneath because I KNEW I was going to continuously shove food down my throat and I did not want to be worried about my tummy. Good call, Nabeela.
Me trying on Sharifah Amani's dress but failing tremendously because she's so petite! |
That's all I have for today... nothing clumsy happened to me (thank god!). I spent the first day of Eid with both my families. I got to see everyone, which was such a privilege! Anyway, I got to get back to my month-long of food adventures. Wishing everyone a splendid Hari Raya, Mohon Maaf Zahir dan Batin. Please forgive me for all my wrongdoings, from the bottom of my heart, I apologise if ever I have hurt you in anyway. Have an amazing time with your family and friends, okay? (And drive safe!... and let me know which houses serve soto!)
Love,
