Team Lipstickmyname recorded a lookbook on a blazing hot Saturday morning which you can find here. We were melting under the sun and my highlighter was in competition with my sweat (shout out to all the girls who have a strobing addiction!). I hope you enjoy it!

Last weekend, the beautiful people at Love to Dress sent me a couple more things. I picked the two-toned long cardigan because out of the entire Spring/Summer 2016 collection, it radiated the brand the most. Before casual wear, LtD was well-known for their very feminine abayas that created their very own wind as you walk. If the brand was personafied, my geeky Harry Potter side would say that she's Fleur Delacour--breathtakingly beautiful, gentle and demure but you don't want to mess with her.

Someone needs to hand me an iron.

They were also kind enough to slip in a beautiful surprise--remember my previous post on the brand and how I said I was thinking about the Relaxed Fit Trousers? Well yes, they sent it too! My heart exploded into confetti. They're such sweethearts and I wish them all the best for the brand. I cannot wait for what LtD has got in their pipeline be it casual wear or their Fleur Delacour abayas because I'm definitely getting in line.

The trousers are super comfortable and I am so glad that I have them because it goes with anything--a plain fitted top with a statement necklace, a shirt for a smart casual look or a statement top for a night out. For reference, these are in Petite Size XS. The Wrapped Trousers I got earlier were Regular Size S and they were a bit big, but these ones fit like a glove! I am going to get so much use out of these trousers, I cannot contain my excitement!!!

Love,
When I started Lipstickmyname, I knew I wanted to start vlogging too to add a little sparkle to the content. I don't know about you, but I can spend hours on Youtube from blogger to blogger, both in beauty and fashion, and I would feel more connected to the blogger far more than just through their writing. I then wondered what my first video would be about, and after a few coffee sessions, it was evident that it would be amazing to do a fun collaboration with a fellow fashion enthusiast to talk about all things FASHION!

I had so much fun with Ajeeratul (@ajeeratul) and Izzy (@izzy_osman) shooting the video (while being in competition with the loud rain). Thank you to the talented Izzy for shooting the video for us, the lighting, the backdrop, the arrangement, the editing! Thank you! And of course, a big thank you to Ajeeratul for agreeing to this and for spending Saturday afternoon with me.

I am so excited to present the first Lipstickmyname x JeeraDoesFashion video collaboration that you'll hopefully see more of! So here it goes, and I hope you love it as much as we do!

Or click here: Lipstickmyname x JeeraDoesFashion

This video is on a brand new channel, The Fashion Scene, which is aimed to produce more videos just like this from other local and international fashion influencers. We'd like to know the kind of content you would like to see so do drop comments below, or just either contact me or Ajeeratul!

Love,

While I was in KL, I was lucky enough to be able to catch the WOO/FIZIWOO for Zalora Raya 2016 show (Thank you Kai, Reen and Sarah!) and was even happier to know that the show would showcase designs from three other designers. I was very excited to see what they had in store for raya! (I also started to panic because that meant that the fasting month is drawing closer and I have not started paying back my off days yet! I never learn).

Carrying the tagline Raya is for Everyone, Woo/Fiziwoo for Zalora 2016 does just that. They bring a colourful collection for a diversified racial group of Malaysians as the designers believe that Raya is not only meant to be celebrated by Muslims and Malays, but by everyone in order to bring all races closer together. Now if there's anything I've learnt from my 8-week Fashion Design course, it's that a capsule collection should have something for everybody.

Every capsule collection also comes with a story. This year, Fiziwoo was inspired by stories told by their parents during their childhood--hence the glamorous looks from the 70s! I found it very witty of them to name each design after raya bites like Dodol, Serunding, Ketupat, etc. Oh raya feels!

Kurung Serunding
Kurung Makmur is my favourite!
Kurung Kapit
Kurung Badam
Kurung Lapis

The crowd was pretty amazing too! Rizalman was there, Sasha Saidin (Elite), Ellie Norman of My Apparel Zoo, people from magazines and the fabulous fashion crowd. But what got me most excited (totally lost my cool btw) was when I saw this tall figure with a turban enter the foyer--YUNA!

Ellie Norman of My Apparel Zoo.

One with Kai (Co-Owner of Fiziwoo), Dalilah Ismail (@dalillahismail), Faa (@faafirds), Fizi (Co-Owner of Fiziwoo) and Sarah (Team Fiziwoo)

With fashion bloggers Dalilah Ismail (@dalillahismail) and Faa (@faafirds), as well as the lovely Sarah, part of Team Fiziwoo.
Yuna CRUSHed my confidence. See what I did there?
Anyway, back to the collection. The price range is between RM 490.00 to RM 690.00 on the Zalora website (click here). I know I said the pre-order ended on the 3rd of April, I swear that was what I heard during the show, but FORTUNATELY bunnies, I was wrong and pre-order ends on 30th May 2016!

So, tell me, which one's your favourite?

Attention fashion bunnies!

Team Adila Long will be in Brunei from 8th-11th April for a private viewing of the luxurious pieces from the latest Luxe/Bridal Intemporal '16 collection. You would not want to miss this so go on and book a slot this weekend! I'm super thrilled! Head over to their instagram for more information (@adila_long).

Watermelon Juice for thirsty guests! (@minumminum)
More photos from the night:

This dress has my heart--the colour, the pattern of the songket, gah just everything about it.

That selendang just makes me want this even more.

Safe to say, I was totally blown away by everything that night, and while I was busy trying to lift my jaw off the floor from all the songket, lace and embellishments wrapped on amazonian beauties, I couldn't help but stare in awe at the fabulousness of the guests! They did not just come dressed to impress, but they dressed to kill. Now, that's my kinda crowd!

I also got the chance to meet some of the loveliest people:

Dalilah Ismail (@dalillahismail), a Singaporean fashion blogger (click here to see her blog), whom I had the greatest opportunity to meet! She is so sweet, humble and kind. I also got to meet her again the next day at the Woo/Fiziwoo for Zalora show.
The beautiful 22-year old Zara Shaidin (@zaracouture) who has absolutely flawless skin and rocks a turban like nobody's business. I'd totally look like a minion in one of those!
Model Amber Chia (@amberchia) who crushed my confidence and made me feel like a hobbit.
Tengku Chanela Jamidah (@tcjamidah) looking as stunning as she could possibly be! (Soon to launch her own cosmetics line @didaforwomen which I am very excited about... I mean lipstick IS my name)

Anyway, don't forget to book your slot this weekend, bunnies!

Love,
"A combination of classic couture with cool sensuality culminating in personal, everlasting beauty. An experience you don't want to miss, of such glorious romantic adventure..."

"Inspired by the culturally rich and beloved country of mine, Malaysia. The timeless beauty and elegance of the Malay Royals, the Indian Maharajas, and the Chinese Imperial Dynasties were the main sources and references when creating the Intemporal '16 collection."

Intemporal '16

My first encounter with Adila was when I ordered my first ever songket bag back in early 2015. I texted her to talk about the details and she, being the sweetheart that she is, sent me an audio of herself saying that she was on the road and that she'll text me as soon as possible. I thought it was extremely sweet of her to do that and not make me wait. We then spent the month finalizing the design and colour of the fabric for my bag.

Soon after, I met Adila and Dara, for my first fitting (for Farhi's wedding) and they were the kindest souls I've ever met. I fell in love with the signature Adila Long style instantly--classic, timeless, elegant, sophisticated, cool and sexy--and made five (at least!) more outfits with her and loved each one.

A year later, I received an invitation to see her show. Without a doubt, I dropped everything and flew to KL to attend it. I knew it would be something extraordinary, just like her bespoke pieces. I knew it would be inspirational and enchanting--and that was what it was.

With the beautiful Adila Long, Principal and Creative Director of the brand, and her adorable baby girl.

One with Dara, the Managing Director of Adila Long--isn't she just drop-dead gorgeous??

Before all the glam, I had to get ready. I knew I had to come wearing my favourite Adila Long creation, which is the (GAHILOVEITSOMUCH) Songket Puffy Skirt that was part of her Bridal collection last year if I'm not mistaken. It took me a while to pick out the top--do I wear white, a shirt, something casual? I was skimming through my wardrobe when I remembered that I had a green velvet dress from the highly anticipated H&MxBalmain collection that I have never worn before! So that was set.

My FOTD features everything I love!
Still pretty giddy every time I see this YSL Touche Eclat with my name on it!
Nars Shimmer Eyeshadow in Mekong
Charlotte Tilbury's Luxury Palette in Fallen Angel

Back to Intemporal '16--which is made up of Luxe Intemporal '16 and Bridal Intemporal '16. Here are some photos:

Other than being a perfect balance of modern and traditional, her designs are also a perfect balance of being feminine and strong. The silhouettes make it sexy but the structure makes it strong, which adds mystery to every ALgirl.

Hello handsome :)

Can I have them all please, baby?

One of my favourites of the night. The design of the songket is so unique you have to go see it up close for yourself!
Another favourite. SO. SEXY. ARGH.

Oh dear heart, be still. I cannot get over her designs (as always)! They always seem to haunt me for days and weeks until I put down a deposit. Every time people ask me what I'm wearing, my answer is always Adila Long. I can't help it. I'm an AL girl.
