Eid Beauty Haul

Friday 1 July 2016

Before I start with my ins, let's take a second to talk about the outs!

Oskia Nutri-Active Day Cream - what do you even do really, other than burn a hole the size of Russia in my wallet? I didn't hate it, but I wasn't completely head over heels with it either. I do want to try other products under the brand though as I've heard so many good reviews about the Renaissance Cleansing Gel and the Get Up & Glow Booster. Oh, I haven't given up on you yet, Oskia! Don't let me down, now.

Mascara Roll Call!

Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Waterproof - It's supposed to give you that wide-eyed doll look effect... which did not happen for me. I was so bummed I didn't look like barbie, even after a few coats!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - I absolutely loved this one! Kayla gave it to me as part of her bridesmaids pack (genius, right? NO, because she knew her best friend was a crybaby and she didn't get me the waterproof version! Why, K? Hehe I love you, nonetheless.) This mascara opened up my eyes (YAS!) BUT, smudges on me after a few hours. So, I'm definitely going to try the waterproof version next!

Givenchy Phenomen'eyes Waterproof Mascara - I quite like this one, particularly because of the weird wand and its ability to get to each and every one of my lashes. Downside though? Such a splurge item. And there's that Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara that's got everybody talking that I want to try.

Earlier this month, my SILs and I splurged on Cult Beauty hoping to get them in time for Eid. Fast forward a few weeks later and we're still skincare-less. I'm seriously beginning to wonder their whereabouts because just last week this came in the mail: Cult Beauty's Summer Goody Bag! This was so supposed to come after our order. Hopefully it'll come soon because I'm totally running out of my Pixi Glow Tonic!

Cult Beauty's Summer Goody Bag
The best thing about having jet-setting colleagues is the ability to shop for goodies you can't get online. A good friend of mine managed to grab a few things for me while she was in London. Her lucky butt got to meet Kendall Jenner at the launch of The Estee Edit at Selfridges--(the worst thing about having jet-setting colleagues is when they get to meet famous people). She got me The Edgiest Up & Out Double Mascara, the Skin Glowing Balm in Chai (which is a little bit too dark on me but fortunately it's a pretty sheer tint and makes my skin look sun-kissed!) and the awesome YSL Mascara Vinyl Couture in I'm the Storm. I tried this glitter mascara and was expecting full on disco lashes like Cara in those YSL Beauty adverts, but they were sadly a little bit too subtle for me.

I also succumbed to the hype surrounding Jeffree Star's Velour Liquid Lipsticks and the Anastasia Beverly Hills kits--Glow Kit in Gleam and Contour Cream Kit in Medium. I'm not sure if having a SIL who runs a make-up business (go follow @fancydbyfii!) is a good or a bad thing! I'm slightly disappointed with the contour kit that's a little hard to blend. Errr I don't know... on the fence with this one because that banana colour changed my life.

On my lips: Gemini!

Lastly, I had to repurchase the Burberry Face Contour Pen! That stuff is butter and is perfect for when you're on-the-go! I initially asked my dad to get it for me when he was abroad but came back saying he couldn't find my 'eye shadow'. Erm, maybe because it isn't an eye shadow, dad? Thankfully, my sister was going to go on a work trip. (And I asked to add the Eye Contour in Almond because @ssnardd is the devil!)

Favourites so far: The Edgiest Up & Out Double Mascara and Gemini!
