Being on leave meant that I had extra time to do my make-up. On a usual workday, I just have enough time for skincare, cc-cream and concealer, and then I try to do my eyeliner, mascara, blusher, contour, highlighter and brows in the car. If you know the roads in Brunei well, you would know how difficult of a task that is, hence I always end up with unintentional thick eyeliner. (But there are days when I just cannot be bothered and end up getting a million 'are you feeling well?' questions and 'you look tired' remarks! SIGH!)
It feels so good to be able to wake up in the morning and do my face properly. I thought I would have been more creative and experimental this week but no... I stuck with the same make-up routine every single day and if you continue scrolling down you'll see the products that I have been loving (and one odd useless mascara you should never buy!).
1. IT Cosmetics CC Cream in Medium
I cannot even begin to comprehend how much I adore this product. It's so difficult to find a good base these days and I think I'm forever going to use this. I also mix it with my foundations and it makes the formula less tacky and runny (which has always been my issue with using foundation in this weather).
2. NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Custard
Surprisingly, I quite enjoy this. It has good coverage and is creamy enough that it's easy to apply. I use this under my eyes and on top of my blemishes. I like it better than the Radiant Creamy Concealer too. I have heard that the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer is better than this so I cannot wait to try that out!
3. Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Marie Antoinette all over the lid.
Love this. I don't get some reviews that complain about this creasing because it does not crease at all on my lids and my lids are like... greasy central.
4. Coco Eyeshadow from the Huda BeautyRose Gold Textured Shadows in the outer corner and into the crease.
I'm still trying to find good use out of this palette. I don't really look good with reddish eyeshadow and the chunks of glitter aren't that flattering on my eyelids sometimes but I am determined to make it work! Coco is surprisingly turning into my go-to eyeshadow. Sometimes I just use this all over the lid and call it a day.
5. The Face Shop Ink Graffiti Brush Pen Liner
I bought this during the SCB Flash Deals promotion in January. It's not a bad product but I think there are better eyeliners in the market that are more black. I still use it for work though, especially when I don't want my liner to be so prominent.
6. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
7. Blinc Mascara
Yeah. Skip this. I put it on and I can't even see it. When I spend money on something, especially on mascara, I want you to be able to see it from a mile away. Plus, it's super watery that you cannot afford to blink (ironic, given the name) or else you'll make a mess around your eyes. Ugh. Really hate this.
8. Benefit Brow Zings - I only use the wax bit; I rarely use the powder.
I've had this since 2015 (yea ew I know). But I have since bought a new one (shade no. 5 was recommended to me since they've re-done the entire brow range but it seems a tad bit lighter and I'm not sure if I like it or not) and I'm going to start on that pretty soon because I do not want my brows to catch a disease.
9. NARS Blush in Taj Mahal
This colour scares a lot of people. It is super pigmented that you only need to dip your stipling brush ever so lightly or you'll risk looking like a clown. Taj Mahal will always be one of my favourite blushers. I have been using this since my second year of university and no matter how many blushers I've bought since, I always come back to this one. It gives me that sun-kissed glow and it probably even looked better when I was a little more tanned back then.
10. Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium
I use this to contour my cheekbones. I'm running out of this and will definitely repurchase on Cult Beauty.
11. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow
I use the bronzer to contour my nose and the highlighter on my cheekbones, brow bone, upper lip... gosh if only I could bathe in that stuff. The highlighter is my absolute favourite... and I own ABH's Glow Kit in Gleam and Becca's Champagne Pop fyi.
12. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish in Fair
I set my entire face with this powder. I love it. It probably lasts a bit more than 6 hours before my forehead becomes shiny, which isn't too bad. I do always want to come back to the Laura Mercier Transparent Loose Powder because it gives such a lovely finish but... I don't know. Should I?
13. Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk
My favourite lip pencil. I'm so bummed I didn't manage to get the lipstick version of this. Anyone know how I can get them?
14. Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips in Kim K. W.
Too pale on its own. But with Pillowtalk, it looks superb!
Lastly
15. Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in Fallen Angel
I just use the champagne colour for my inner corner highlight. (As you can see... the black eyeshadow has popped out and it made quite a mess.)
Voila! That's my face for you!
Love,
